Lego Day part 2

After making our spinners, we played with Lego mindstorms. These are lego models that you can program to do things. We had to put light sensors on to see a black line on a racetrack. We needed to go as fast as we could without going off the track.   by Max

Solving problems

Getting the robot to go all the way around the track was the most difficult thing. My team couldn’t get the speed right    by Charlie

Testing the robots

Our robot was called Burning Rubber. Our team got into the championship final and came second !!!!    by Alfie

The Grand Final

It was hard to get the robot to all around the track. If it turned round and went the wrong way we would leave it until it crashed. If it went too slowly and another robot caught it up then the slow robot was taken out.       by Emily

The winning robot and team

Taking Nao for a walk

I  enjoyed seeing Nao do things, especially when he danced to Thriller. Nao was very cool and I want one for my birthday!    by Becky

The lego day was fantastic and everyone really enjoyed it. Thank you so much for John and Colin for coming in with all their equipment and Nao. And especially Thank you to Mrs Nutbrown for organising the day for year 5!

Robots that follow a line like the ones that you used form an undergraduate project at Oxford University. Just so you know what level you are working at.
