We have been looking at poems by Pie Corbett for the past two weeks and we have been looking at the wonderful descriptions that he uses in his poems. We especially like the Recipe to make a Wolf, My Cat and City Jungle.
In shared writing today we began to write a poem describing a dragon.
Quorthyne
Eyes like fireballs
gleam in the eerie darkness
He stares greedily at
vast shining heap of treasure.
Ragged, rough scales as hard as emeralds
lay over his leathery skin
Black
As cold as moonless night.
Bright blades line his jaw
As sharp as swords
His molten breath
Melts the hardest stone.

We then began to write our poems about a mythical or magical creature and tried to use some of the ideas we have read. Watch this space to read more of our work 🙂
