Planet Spotting

Venus and Jupiter in the evening sky.

Apparently this month, March 2012, is the best month for ages for being able to see planets in the night sky. I’m sure that you have all seen Venus and Jupiter in the evenings. If not, have a look when it gets dark this week. Can you spot the other planets that are supposed to be visible?

There is a special event happening this week regarding Venus and Jupiter. Do you know what it is? Do you know what the word ‘conjunction’ means? Keep your eyes peeled and watch what happens to Venus and Jupiter over the coming week.

Remember to post your comments about what you see and are able to find out.

Venus, Jupiter and Mercury are going to be in a line. This is being in conjunction.

on Saturday night I was skipping through the radio and on one radio station I heard that there was the planet Mars just above the moon so I looked out into the sky and actually saw the planet there.
