Poetry Competition

We have written loads of poetry this year so when we saw that Brian Moses had offered a book as a prize in a competition, then we had to have a go.

We had a go at writing some of our own poems based on the one by Brian Moses. Here are some of them for you to read.

If I was a shape by Eleanor

If I was a sphere
I would be bubble floating around in the mediterranean sea
Iwould be bowling ball rolling down the bowling alley
I’d be a cold glass marble standing as still as a statue
If I was a sphere

If I was a cone
I would be an ice cream with a massive dollop of caramel ice cream dripping from me
I would be a witches hat sneakily perching on top of her knotty old hair
If I were a cone

But if Iwas a star
I’d be Jessie J

If I were a shape by Megan

If I were a shape
I’d be a rhombus
I’d be a proud colourful kite soaring high in the sky
I’d be a sparking diamond on a ring sitting on the queen’s finger
I’d be stained glass diamond shaped window with sunlight shining through me

If I were a shape
I’d be a sphere
I would be the hugest planet, Jupiter, boss of them all
I’d be the luckiest tennis ball belonging to the most famous tennis player
I’d be an energetic bouncy ball rolling down a steep hill

If I were a shape
I’d be a cone
I’d be a crunchy cone holding a toffee flavour ice cream
I’d be a glimmering party hat at Elvis’s birthday party
I’d be an erupting volcano, destroying all in my path

But if I were a star
I’d be Pixie Lott!

If I were a shape by Max

If I were a shape
I’d be an oval
I’d be an Easter egg left until Christmas Eve
I’d be the face on a painting of Henry VIII
I’d be the lens in a brainiac’s geeky glasses
If I were an oval

If I were a shape
I’d be a triangle
I’d be the Bermuda Triangle, from where brave sailors never return
I’d be half of a cool black bow tie worn to a posh dinner with the boss
I’d be a Give Way road sign, in control of the drivers
If I were a triangle

If Iwere a shape
I’d be a diamond
I’d be the massive kite that everyone else was jealous
I’d be a fabulous diamond being discovered bya soon-to-be -rich digger
I’d be a piece of glass in a stained glass window
If I were a diamond

But if I were a star
I’d be Albert Einstein!

If I were a shape      by Joe

 If  I were a line
I’d be the goal line of the champions league final
Leicester v Barcelona
I’d be a ray of light guiding the way forlost drivers
I’d be a never ending line stretching to infinity.
If I were a line

 If I were a rectangle
I’d be the third ace in the perfect hand
I’d be an England flag cheering them on in the Olympics
I’d be a beautiful Van Gogh painting just being sold for a million pounds
If I were a rectangle.

 If I were a hexagon
I’d be a segment of the lightest but most powerful football in the world
I’d be a pretty pattern in a bee hive
I’d be a jewellery box carrying the most sparkling jewels in the land.
If I were a hexagon

 But if I were a star I’d be ………….

Afro dude off LMFAO!!!
