Every Friday morning after assembly, we go out to play hockey with Callum, the hockey coach. We have to wear warm clothes because it is really cold. He taught us two dribbles, the strong stick dribble and the indian dribble. The coaching is really good because we learned lots of things. It was essential that we used the green side of the hockey stick because if we didn’t then we wouldn’t be doing it properly.
Last Friday we played 5 a side games which were really fun. We learned how to pass to our team mates. We had lots of fun playing the matches but had to be careful not to fall over as the playground was really wet. Eleanor liked the games because they turned out much better than she had expected. We learned some new things about the match rules such as the defender’s line when you miss the goal. It was a really good session and we are looking forward to this Friday.

Hi Room 5, My name if Anne K and I am the teacher of Room 6 at St Mary’s School, Mosgiel, New Zealand. It is very funny for us to see you dressed up warm for hockey because it is still very warm here. Some of us play hockey. I will get them to visit your site tomorrow. Do you play hockey for your school, or for a local club? Can you please tell us a bit about your school and area. We would love to learn more about your class.
Thanks
Mrs K
