Tesselation Homework

This week’s homework is all about investigating tesselations. Which shapes will tesselate and which ones will not? Are there some shapes that only tesselate with another shape?

There are all sorts of tesselated patterns all around you, have a look and see what you can find.

Use this link to see how some more unusual shapes will tesselate.

Escher was a famous 20th century artist who created some strange and intricate tesselated patterns. What can you find out about him?

If you look at the blog archive for last April, you can see some of the work that last year’s class created with their own shapes.
